Successful 45th DAC Showing
Successful 45th DAC Showing!
We had another successful showing at the 45th DAC in Anahiem. Over 150 attendees visited our booth and spent time with us during the 3 days of DAC. Many new and returning DAC attendees got a look at our tool, participated in our “Best Layout” contest and attended our private sessions. We were also fortunate to make it onto Gary Smith EDA’s “What to see @ DAC 2008” list.
All of the returning attendees have been tracking us since our placement introduction 2 DAC’s ago. They were pleased with our ability to continue making progress by adding more capability. This year the router was integrated and working concurrently with our placer. Everyone was also pleased with the set of constraints both for routing and placement that were implemented and saw the potential for very complex place and route.
The message from all who visited our booth was simple, “INTEGRATE”. Where and what
platform to integrate to was mixed, but we did not hear any remarks about our features, potential or capabilities. Either way, we heard a steady request for being contacted to test our tool once integrated. This was a significant vote of confidence by all DAC attendees visiting our booth.
For those who participated in our layout contest, they were excited and please at the ease of use, its speed, and the deterministic nature of constraint application. An added surprise was the support tools to screen and select the desired layout of interest. Default constraints recommended by the tools was yet another pleasant surprise taking the tedium out and making our ALIStm more user friendly. This allowed attendees to focus where designers constraint input had the most impact.
With the progress and warm reception of our the tool, the potential for prototyping and porting/migration was a reality in everyone’s’ mind. The possibility of one day doing true concurrent design is within grasp.
With this DAC behind us, SynCira will be continuing to improve upon our product. We hope to see you again at the 46th Design Automation Convention in San Francisco, next year.
